Deyan Bararev (born 1987 in Sofia, Bulgaria) has graduated Film and TV Directing in New Bulgarian University. He is a former participant of the Berlinale and Sarajevo Talents 2015 and Nisimasa’s ESP 2015. Deyan has written, directed and produced the award winning film “Botev is an idiot” (2013) which cause a lot of controversy in Bulgaria. The film has also close to 670 000 views on YouTube. He also wrote, directed and produced other award winning short films: “Maika mi calling” (2015), which was mentioned in Monocle magazine as a “don’t miss”, “Batmobile” (2016) which premiered at the Durban International Film Festival and “Baikal” (2020) which premiered at Tirana International Film Festival. Deyan has also worked in Bulgarian Television – developing his skills as an editor in 3 different television series that aired in prime time and also as a writer for a late night show. He has also a deep understanding in marketing – from strategic conceptualization to implementation.
