Erro represents the first audiovisual work directed by Amaia Lejarreta, an established Basque artist from Durango. In Erro, the artist’s body- painting is cleverly combined with the vertical dancing of Janire Etxabe, all under the supervision of Jon Mendizabal’s filming and editing.

Through this project, Amaia reflects upon concepts such as territory, space/time, memory, identity and the life cycles of the body. In this short film, the lands of Bizkaia are indeed present, echoing on the Basque mythology, whereby for the artist is not only a source of inspiration but a reflection.

The artist believes art and life to be inextricable. In this journey, energies that belonged in the past are brought to the present, mindful of who she was, stepping into the future. This time a fireless and painless future, following only the feeling of love and passion, which so much drives this artist’s work. By doing so, she brings to life her organic memory as well as the deep feelings that define her creations.
