Documentary filmmaker, journalist, and award-winning photographer in both cinema and photography, Rafael Duarte holds a master’s degree in “Cinema and Audiovisual” from Sorbonne, in Paris, and has directed 10 documentaries including feature, medium, and short films. His work reflects on the connection between humans and nature and seeks to immerse in the biography of characters to find particular angles on their worldviews.
He is also the author of six books, one of which was a finalist for the Jabuti Literature Prize. He collaborates with national and international outlets such as National Geographic, O Globo, VICE, and Revista Go Outside. As a photographer, he has exhibited in galleries and museums in Brazil, France, Spain, and England in solo and group exhibitions.
