Seul sous les aurores (Alone beneath the Northern Lights)

A winter beyond the Arctic Circle, I open the door of a wooden hut lost in the heart of the white landscapes, far from any civilisation. The northern lights blaze the skies, and the views are incredibly beautiful. I take care to write down my ideas, my sensations, and to record my life as a hermit. This place is propitious to wonder, to poetry, to reason…

Director: Valentin Boitel-Denyset

Valentin Boitel-Denyset is French, born in 1993, engineer, filmmaker and photographer. Mentioned a dozen times in international photography awards, he spent a year in Scandinavia with the aim of bringing back the most beautiful pictures. This is why he lived for two months isolated in a wooden cabin lost in the heart of the white landscapes, 400 kilometres beyond the Arctic Circle. This unique experience is documented in a short film, Alone beneath the Northern Ligths.

Director Statement

Let yourself be carried away by my adventure, but never forget that this beautiful nature is fragile and that we must protect it. I have seen it with my own eyes, the Arctic environment is suffering more than ever, and this is only the beginning of what is to come for the whole world if we do not act.
